Festeevol Time!
The only reason to ever go to Tennessee and the only reason to go to a Manchester not in England or Vermont collide on the 16th of June and lasts for three days. It's the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival,
http://www.bonnaroo.com/. In the past Manchester, TN's music festival has been leaning toward the Jam-type bands. This year they've decided to do something else, something better. Phil Lesh formerly of the Grateful Dead, Rusted Root, Mike Gordan formerly of Phish, and Blues Traveler will be there, but so will Beck, Elvis Costello, Bright Eyes, Death Cab For Cutie, and Radiohead. Oh, and that Brazillian dude in "Steve Zizou's The Life Aquatic" that was playing David Bowie songs in Portuguese will be there. He has a name. It's Seu Jorge. Good for him. Everybody's favorite hasidic reggae star Matisyahu will be there. Oh, and Bonnie Raitt too. Huh? I forgot. It's in Tennessee, close to Nashville. I'd buy tickets, but then the concert would get cancelled. Plus, it is in Tennessee. Why can't they do something like this in the middle of Pennsylvania? It would be close enough to Philly, Pitt, Brawlimer, DC, Clever-land, and Zoo York that people wouldn't have to fly to get there. People don't think. Maybe I'll start a festival. Danny and Gary, don't your parents want to make some extra money and rent out their homes? Tickets on sale Saturday, the 11th at 10 AM EST, for Bonnaroo, not the imaginary PA show.

A pumpkin by any other name is still a pumpkin (unless it is missing half of the original band.)

Operation Slap Shot
http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/columns/story?id=2322762
Former hockey player, current hockey asst. coach to Gretzky's Coyotes, and eternal hockey jerk Rick Tockett is in trouble for book-keeping and money laundering. New Jersey cops entitled the sting "Operation Slap Shot." Supposedly none of the bets were on hockey so that isn't really that big of a deal, but then again Pete Rose "never bet on baseball." Money laundering is always a big deal. Just ask the IRS. Oh, and Janet Jones, Wayne Gretzky's wife and lead actress in the movie "the Flamingo Kid," may be involved. What I remember most about Rick Tockett's playing days was going from the Philly Flyers where he played most of his career to the Pittsburgh Penguins and winning the Stanley Cup there. After the final game during an interview a reporter asked him what it was like to win the championship. Tockett said it was great playing for the best team in Pennsylvania. When the reporter reminded him that the Pens were the greatest team in the league since they had just won the Stanley Cup, Rick repeated himself. "Greatest team in Pennsylvania." Nice. Now the Steelers are the greatest team in Pennsylvania.
